About CUET-PG
What is CUET-PG?
Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate, or CUET PG, is NTA's common entrance examination for postgraduate programmes offered by participating universities. NTA conducts the test and publishes scores; each university separately controls programme eligibility, registration, merit or counselling and final admission.
In the 2026 cycle, candidates could select up to four test-paper codes. Each computer-based paper contained 75 compulsory questions to be completed in 90 minutes under the +4/−1 marking rule. The examination was held on notified dates from 6 to 27 March and NTA declared the result on 24 April 2026.
The central risk is choosing an unusable paper code. Before applying, candidates should match every intended programme to the test code, degree subjects, marks and other rules published by that university. A CUET PG score alone does not create an admission application.

CUET PG Application Process and Fees
Official application route and fee details
The CUET PG 2026 exam application is closed. A future applicant should first identify the exact test-paper code accepted by every target postgraduate programme, then complete the official NTA form and select no more than the permitted number of papers.
Enter degree, identity and category data accurately, upload compliant images, select cities and pay only through the official portal. Retain the application number and confirmation page.
After the result, complete each target university's separate admission registration, programme choices, document upload and fee steps. NTA does not forward a candidate into every university's admission pool automatically.

CUET PG Eligibility Criteria
Qualification, age and other requirements
Bachelor's qualification
Passed or final year in 2026
- Candidates who had completed a bachelor's degree or were appearing in the final year in 2026 could take CUET PG under NTA's broad rule.
- The university decides whether the degree discipline, papers and marks satisfy a particular programme.
- Final-year candidates must produce the qualifying result within the university's admission deadline.
Age
No NTA exam age limit
- NTA did not set a general age limit to appear in CUET PG 2026.
- A university or programme may apply its own age or professional-eligibility rule.
- The programme prospectus controls the admission decision.
Test-paper code
Programme-specific
- Each target programme identifies the CUET PG test-paper code or codes it accepts.
- Candidates could select up to four codes, but selecting a broadly related code does not guarantee programme eligibility.
- Use the official syllabus page for the exact selected code.
University application
Separate process
- A score card does not register a candidate for a participating university.
- Complete the university's own form, programme choices and category or document requirements.
- Merit construction, tie rules and counselling can differ by university.

- The paper content and permitted language depend on the selected test-paper code.
- Candidates should use the official code-specific syllabus rather than a generic CUET PG topic list.
CUET PG Syllabus Overview
Subjects and stages in the official syllabus
- CUET PG does not have one universal subject syllabus. NTA publishes separate syllabus PDFs for the test-paper codes used by arts, humanities, sciences, commerce, education, law, technology and other programme groups.
- The code-specific PDF controls the units and topic scope. A university's programme eligibility page controls whether that code is accepted for admission.
- Candidates taking more than one test code should maintain separate syllabus checklists and mocks for each paper.
Select the code
Start from the target programme's accepted test-paper code, not from a similarly named coaching syllabus.
Download the PDF
Use the official NTA syllabus file for each selected code as the topic checklist.
Prepare separately
Each selected code is a distinct 75-question, 90-minute paper and may require a different revision plan.
CUET PG 2026 Result
NTA declared the result on 24 April 2026
Current status: The CUET PG 2026 result is published through the official NTA route.
Verify the candidate and test-code details on the score card and save a copy for each university application.
NTA's result is not a common seat allotment. Each university applies its own programme eligibility, merit and admission process.
CUET PG 2026 University Admission
Participating universities run separate processes
Current status: Candidates should check the portal of every target university for registration, programme preferences, merit lists and reporting.
Confirm the accepted test code and degree eligibility before paying a university application fee. Meet all programme, marks, category and document conditions.
A participating-university list confirms participation, but it does not mean every programme at that university accepts every CUET PG code.
CUET PG Preparation Strategy
A syllabus-first preparation route
- Build a programme-to-code matrix for every target university before preparing or paying for the examination.
- Convert each official code-specific syllabus into a checklist and mark topics by confidence and expected revision time.
- Practise 75-question papers within 90 minutes and apply +4/−1 scoring so question selection is trained honestly.
- Use undergraduate foundations for the chosen discipline, then shift to mixed application and recall practice aligned to official syllabus wording.
- If taking multiple codes, alternate full-paper mocks and keep separate error logs so one subject does not hide another's weakness.
- Track university forms and documents independently; exam preparation is only one part of the admission workflow.
CUET PG Books and Study Material
- Use the NTA information bulletin and the official code-specific syllabus PDFs as governing references.
- Choose one standard undergraduate reference or concise revision source for each official unit, favouring material already studied in the bachelor's course.
- Use official-format timed questions and an error log instead of several overlapping generic entrance books.
CUET PG Previous Question Papers
Official question-paper resources
Match practice to the exact test-paper code. A paper for another code, even in a nearby discipline, is not reliable evidence of your syllabus or difficulty.
Attempt each paper in 90 minutes, score +4/−1/0 and revise by official unit before the next mock.
