About NEET-PG
What is NEET-PG?
NEET PG is the single national entrance examination described by NBEMS for admission to MD, MS and Postgraduate Diploma courses and the other postgraduate medical routes covered by its bulletin, including post-MBBS DNB and NBEMS Diploma courses. It is not the entrance test for institutions and programmes that the bulletin expressly excludes, such as the INI-CET route.
For the 2026 cycle, applications closed on 21 July. The selective image-edit window runs through 10 August, test-city information is scheduled for 11 August, admit cards for 27 August and the computer-based examination for 30 August. The internship-completion cut-off is 30 September 2026.
NBEMS conducts the examination and publishes the result, but counselling and seat allocation are separate. MCC, state authorities, institutions or other designated bodies apply their own seat-pool, eligibility, category, document and service conditions.

NEET PG Application Process and Fees
Official application route and fee details
The NEET PG 2026 form is closed. Applicants should now use only the official correction facility if their dashboard identifies an image requiring correction; this is not a fresh-application window.
Candidates must preserve the application acknowledgement and ensure that the photograph, signature, thumb impression, name, registration and internship details match the documents they will produce.
After the result, candidates must register separately with the counselling authority responsible for the intended seat pool. NBEMS does not fill counselling choices.
| Candidate category | Fee |
|---|---|
| General, OBC and EWS | ₹3,500 |
| SC, ST and PwBD | ₹2,500 |
- Payment-gateway charges may be additional.
- The examination fee is separate from any counselling registration, security deposit or admission fee.
NEET PG Eligibility Criteria
Qualification, age and other requirements
Medical qualification
Recognised MBBS
- Indian candidates require an MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate recognised under the applicable medical-education law.
- The qualification and institution details are verified during counselling and admission.
- An NBEMS application acceptance is not final recognition of eligibility.
Medical registration
Permanent or provisional
- Candidates require permanent or provisional registration issued by the NMC, the former MCI or a State Medical Council as applicable.
- Registration information and certificate details must match the application and counselling documents.
- Foreign medical graduates should follow the specific bulletin provisions that apply to them.
Internship
Complete by 30 Sep 2026
- The compulsory rotating internship must be completed on or before 30 September 2026 for this cycle.
- Candidates completing after the cut-off are not eligible merely because they took the examination.
- The completion certificate and dates are checked during admission.
Seat-pool conditions
Counselling-specific
- All India quota, state, private, deemed, AFMS and other routes can add domicile, category, service, bond or institutional conditions.
- The bulletin identifies programmes or institutions outside the NEET PG route, including the INI-CET route.
- Read the authority's live counselling brochure before choices and payment.
NEET PG 2026 Admit Card
Scheduled for 27 August 2026
Current status: NBEMS schedules the admit card for 27 August and the examination for 30 August 2026.
Download the admit card only through the NBEMS applicant login when released. Check the name, application details, reporting time, test centre, photograph and barcode or other identifying information.
Read the entry, identity, prohibited-item and biometric instructions before travelling; an admit card does not cure an eligibility defect.

NEET PG Syllabus Overview
Subjects and stages in the official syllabus
- The examination tests subjects and knowledge areas covered by the Graduate Medical Education Regulations and the MBBS curriculum rather than a short coaching-topic list.
- Preparation spans pre-clinical disciplines such as anatomy, physiology and biochemistry; para-clinical disciplines including pathology, pharmacology, microbiology, forensic medicine and community medicine; and clinical disciplines across medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and allied subjects.
- Use the current NBEMS bulletin for the governing syllabus statement and official practice material for the interface and question style.
Pre-clinical
Anatomy, physiology and biochemistry foundations integrated into applied medical questions.
Para-clinical
Pathology, pharmacology, microbiology, forensic medicine and community medicine.
Clinical
Medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and allied clinical disciplines.
NEET PG 2026 Result
Scheduled by 30 September 2026
Current status: No NEET PG 2026 result existed as of 2 August because the examination is scheduled for 30 August.
NBEMS states that the result is due by 30 September 2026. Do not publish an exact earlier day unless NBEMS issues a notice.
After publication, distinguish the result or merit information from counselling registration and seat allotment.
NEET PG Preparation Strategy
A syllabus-first preparation route
- Map revision to the MBBS curriculum and current bulletin, then prioritise weak systems and repeatedly tested clinical decisions using a finite resource set.
- Practise in five 42-minute sections because the 2026 interface prevents returning to a section after its timer closes.
- Use mixed clinical vignettes to connect anatomy, pathology, investigation and management instead of revising every subject in isolation.
- Record errors by missing fact, diagnostic reasoning, overthinking, reading or time management and schedule targeted re-testing.
- Apply the +4/−1 rule honestly in mocks and develop a deliberate policy for marked-for-review questions before each section closes.
- Protect sleep and examination-day stamina; the paper is one continuous three-hour-thirty-minute single-shift assessment.
NEET PG Books and Study Material
- Keep the official NBEMS bulletin and demo or official practice interface as the governing exam references.
- Use standard undergraduate medical textbooks or concise revision notes already familiar from MBBS training; switching to several new sets late in the cycle reduces repeat revision.
- Use one question bank or official-style test series deeply, with an error notebook and scheduled reattempts, rather than accumulating overlapping explanations.
NEET PG Previous Question Papers
Official question-paper resources
NBEMS does not provide a conventional reusable paper archive in the same way as some pen-and-paper bodies. Use only official demo or practice resources and do not label memory-based coaching compilations as official papers.
Full mocks should replicate the five locked 42-minute sections and the current marking rule.
