About CSIR-UGC NET
What is CSIR-UGC NET?
The Joint CSIR-UGC NET determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor and PhD-admission categories in five science subject areas.
NTA conducted the June 2026 examination on 17 and 18 July. As verified on 2 August, the official notice archive recorded completion of the test but did not provide a result date, so no result date is predicted here.
CSIR has announced that a combined Joint CSIR-UGC-DBT JRF-NET is intended from the December 2026 cycle. Candidates should therefore re-check the next cycle's official bulletin rather than carrying this June structure forward automatically.

The June 2026 application window is closed. The next application must be made only through the official NTA CSIR-NET portal after its own bulletin is published.
Applicants select one of the five subject papers, enter qualifying-degree and category details, upload the prescribed images and documents, and complete online fee payment.
Because CSIR has announced a combined CSIR-UGC-DBT examination from December 2026, do not assume that the next form, syllabus or eligibility wording will be identical.

Master's or notified equivalent
- The normal route is a qualifying science master's degree or a bulletin-listed equivalent.

55% general; 50% relaxed categories
